Windsong

Hold now kissed by the shallow wind

I shall not return to this place again

Lifting gaze from soiled hands

Shattered maps and tilted landscapes

I fear, I feel, I will run away

Just to circle back at the end of day

A sigh escapes through parted lips

Blind alleys, stretched out fingers

Melodic sense now permeating

Like tides flow then receding

The motion ever towards you

What else would you have me to do?

I curse the core and then ask for more

And yet still always waiting

The air is heavy that I breathe

The ground is soft beneath my feet

Desert soaked & Swamp parched

Blood flows backwards through this heart

Hold now kissed by the shallow wind

We shall never see this place again

Kissed now held by the shallow wind

What remains here we shall never mend

Held now upon the shallow wind

Breathe it through tired skin

A breath upon the shallow wind

A heart that’s full of keeping
